Dean was born on February 14, 1930 to his parents Henry and Mary (DeSeive) Dierks in Butte, Nebraska but grew up in Atkinson, Nebraska. I am sad for the pain of your loss. You will always carry memories of being with him, his energy, his love of family and his love of telling stories. He is now with your mom whom he missed. And I picture him and our dad (his brother Jus) walking up a country road, whistling, with fishing rods over their shoulders.
Dad loved to tell a story about Dean playing football. When the coach reamed him over some fault, he looked the man in the eye and silently removed his uniform. Threw everything down. Then he walked away and never went back. Dad would laugh and say the coach was out a good player.
Thinking of you, of the loss of your dad and grandpa. We’re out another good player.
