Kandis Lee Jones

Kandis Lee Jones, age 77, passed away on September 5, 2026. Born May 7, 1949, Kandis made her home in Louisville, Nebraska, and left behind a life remembered for its warmth, laughter, and the kind of welcome that made people feel instantly at ease.

From the beginning, she was known as Dolly—a nickname given by her father—and it fit the way she moved through life with a tender heart and a steady instinct to care for others. She took pride in looking after the people around her, especially her two brothers and sister, and she so often placed the needs of those she loved ahead of her own. That faithful devotion, offered with generosity and real compassion, became one of the clearest signatures of her days.

Kandi worked for Qwest Communications for 30 years as a service rep and facilitator until her retirement. She was genuinely proud of the work she did there and spoke of it often, carrying that pride with the same steadfast commitment she gave to everything and everyone she loved.

She is survived by Jerry Jones (Spouse); her children, Corey Jones and Staci Anderson; son-in-law, Eric Anderson; grandchildren, Hunter Jones and Graysen Jones; brother, Mike Sandberg and his spouse Eva Sandberg; and sister, Chris Cole and her spouse Mike Cole. She is preceded in death by her father Norman Sandberg; her mother Betty Sandberg; and her brother Steve Sandberg.

Kandi brought joy to everyday life in a way that was uniquely her own. She was a passionate shopper, never letting a good QVC deal pass her by, and she loved to socialize—always ready with a bright word, a quick joke, and a way of turning an ordinary moment into something worth remembering. An avid bowler for many years, she proudly held her place as the anchor for the team. She loved long days at the lake hanging with the “seesters,” and she took particular joy in cheering her grandkids on at their baseball and football games, showing up with the kind of support that makes a person feel deeply cherished.

It’s no surprise that Kandi was often the life of the party. She had a gift for making every gathering brighter, every story better, and every moment more memorable. People didn’t just meet her—they felt included by her, as if they’d been claimed as family from the start. That bright, generous spirit doesn’t end; it carries forward in the way she loved, the way she laughed, and the way she made room for others.

And, of course, she will always be cheering on the Huskers. You can guarantee that after every touchdown, you will hear her singing the Husker fight song.

VISITATION will be held Friday, September 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE and Husker Party will be held Saturday, September 12th at 5:00 pm at Lake Olivo, 17001 S. 99th Street, Papillion.
