

Karen was born on October 9, 1943, in Hamburg, Iowa to Dale and Verna (Bosley) Meek. She grew up in a large family with her brothers Billy, Bobby, Ernie, Jimmy, and Carroll, and sisters Beverly, Linda, Patty, Peggy, Susie, and Sharon. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep sense of love and resilience that she carried throughout her life.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Lukehart, whom she married on October 15, 1961; daughter, Deborah (Mel) Wade; son, Michael Lukehart; grandchildren, Nathan Wade, Christina Skow, Melanie Lukehart, and Justin Lukehart; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Payne, Nathan Wade Jr., Marcus Wade, Zoey Norman, Jayden Lukehart, Kaileb Skow, and Carter Lea Gaughran; and brother, Carroll Meek.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Candice Wade, as well as her parents and 10 siblings.
A woman of faith and dedication, Karen was actively involved with Empty Tomb Ministries in Omaha, Nebraska. Her commitment to her spiritual community reflected the same steadfast care she gave to her family.
Family was at the center of Karen's world. She cherished her loved ones above all else, pouring her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting them. The love and care she showed to her family members were boundless, and the memories they shared will undoubtedly be treasured for years to come.
A visitation for Karen will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kahler Dolce Mortuary, 441 North Washington Street, Papillion, NE 68046. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 19, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Kahler Dolce Mortuary. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa.
