I got to know Leah through the Papillion La Vista TeamMates Mentoring Program. She was such a kind person with such a big heart. She truly loved mentoring and meeting with her mentee each week. I especially enjoyed when she would walk over to the Central Office and just stop in to chat. She was indeed a very special person.

I KNOW THAT THIS MAY NOT BE THE NORM FOR MANY PEOPLE.
however BE IT KNOW That We Were Married In 1953, and together except when the Air Force needed us to be apart in my duties. YES OTHERS HAVE BEEN MARRIED EVEN LONGER, BUT I AM SURE THEY ALSO FELT LIKE I AM FEELING.
WE were gifted with Three Very Fine BOYS.
They are now grown and each Have Very Fine Families.
What I want all to know and maybe I am bragging, But IN TRUTH I CAN say
"SHE WAS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE"
YES A NEW ERA HAS STARTED FOR ME, BUT SHE WILL BE FOREVER IN MY HEART. I WILL START OUT BY FEELING ALONE, BUT TIME WILL SLOW THAT DOWN, BUT EVEN THEN THERE WILL ALWAYS BE THOUGHTS OF HER AND THE LOVE SHE SHOWED HER FAMILY AND OTHERS. MY SWEETHEART FOREVER I SHALL LOVE YOU. YOURS AND ONLY YOURS, JOHN A.

So saddened to hear of Leah. The family pictures are just wonderful! If you could only get John to smile! (Ha) The best memory I have of Leah is her Butterscotch Corn Flake drop cookies, I still have her recipe.
When you lose someone you love those memories become precious! Thinking of all of you, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in peace Leah.
Love and hugs sent your way
Penne Bankson (Neihart) The youngest one of the three.
