Lori Ann Mahoney, 67, died September 11, 2026. Born August 29, 1959, Lori was the daughter of Arthur and Shirley Hayes, and one of four children—sharing her early life with brothers Terry and Tom and sister Coleen.
Lori met the love of her life Thomas G. Mahoney on St. Patricks Day 1981, whom she married on September 25, 1982. They were blessed with 3 children; daughter Amanda Pitschmann and spouse Christopher; son Zachary Mahoney and spouse Addie; and son Cody Mahoney and spouse Andrea. After his passing in Feb 2000 her commitment and love for Tom never wavered. A woman of strength and deep devotion, Lori went on to raise their children independently and build their life around what mattered most: family. Her love filled joy only expanded with her grandchildren—Keegan and Ryder Pitschmann, and Koraline, Everett, Paxton, and Breckyn Mahoney—each one cherished and loved in a way only a grandmother could.
During many of her children’s school years, Lori worked within the Springfield/Platteview Schools, allowing her to spend more time with them. In the years following, she continued to work as an administrative assistant. In 2016 she found her home with CoreTech, where she spent the last 10 years with her wonderful work family and retired in June 2026.
Some of Lori’s happiest moments were found in the simplicity of just being together. She loved family gatherings, and her caring spirit came through in the things she made and shared—crafting, crocheting, and cooking. She really enjoyed creating gifts and decor through her laser woodworking business, Prizm Laser Studio.
Her love showed up in everyday ways. Resilient and strong-willed, she met life head-on, and those who knew her best will remember her “stubborn as hell” spirit. Above all, Lori’s legacy is her fierce dedication to her husband, children and grandchildren—how completely she supported them by stepping in and helping with anything and everything they needed.
A love like hers does not end—it reaches beyond what we can see. In Lori’s own words: “To the moon and back, I love you more!”
VISITATION Friday, September 18, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Mortuary. FUNERAL SERVICE to follow at 12:00 pm. COMMITTAL St. John's Cemetery, Bellevue, Nebraska.
