Martha A. Brandenburg

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Isabel (Sharpe) and Lyman Orr. She is survived by husband Darrell of 62 years, sons Clay (Linda) of Omaha, NE; Robin (Jean) of Steelville, MO; daughter Pam (Kevin) Christensen, Springfield, NE ; and five grandchildren Sarah (Jordan )Boerma; Philip Brandenburg, Kyle (Justin) Taylor; Ryan Brandenburg, Dana Christensen and one sister Mary Frances Caldwell , Liberty, IN

She graduated from Indiana University in 1948 where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She taught school in Rockford, IL and married Darrell in 1949 and resided in Lincoln, NE. The couple moved to Louisville, NE where she was instrumental in running the Dairy Crème in Louisville, NE. She then taught school in LaPlatte,NE and raised her family on a farm east of Springfield, NE.

She loved to play cards, golfing and going to south Texas in the winters.

The family will receive friends Saturday May 19, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 PM all at the First United Methodist Church,480 Main Street, Springfield, NE
