Mary Ellen Nielsen

Born January 29, 1922 to Chester & Ida (Martinsen) Keyes in Springfield, NE. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1939. She married Eldon Nielsen March 23, 1944 at Springfield First United Methodist Church. She worked for the Springfield Bank for 27 years. She was a member of the Springfield First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and Legion Post #143 Auxillary. She Died at Papillion Manor on April 5, 2013 at the age of 91 years 2 Months and 6 days.

Preceded in death by Brothers & Sisters in Law: Donald & Helen Keyes, Chester Jr. & Wilma Keyes. Sisters & Brothers in Law: (Infant) Lillian Keyes, Doris & Melvin Schmidt, Bernice Keyes, Bonnie & Donald Hileman, Iris & Shelby Pankau. Brother in law & Sister in Law: Leroy & Jean Nielsen.

Survived by Husband: Elden. Sons & Daughters in Law: Rodney & Maureen, Springfield, NE., Merlyn & Elaine, Seward, NE. Grandchildren: Clay, Jill, Erin, Brian. Great Grandson: Corey Johnson. Brother in law & Sister in law: Arlo & Mert Nielsen. Many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services Tuesday 10:30 am Springfield First United Methodist Church. Interment: Springfield Cemetery. Visitation: at mortuary Monday 1-8pm with family receiving friends from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to Springfield First UMC or Family choice.
