Mary Louise Helwig of Papillion, Nebraska was born on October 10, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska to James and Shirley Sobbing. She passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the age of 63 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mary graduated from Bryan High School in 1979. She was passionate about helping many people as a nurse for over 30 years. Mary loved to make scrapbooks of memories for each of her children. She spent time baking with her grandchildren and tending to her roses. Mary and her late husband, Dale, owned a farm and grew pumpkins which they would sell every fall at their farm. As all of her children grew up, Mary spent all of her time at sporting events, dance, and 4H with them.
She was preceded in death by her Father, James Sobbing Sr., Mother Shirley Sobbing, and Husband, Dale Helwig.
She is survived by her Children, John (Katie), Matt (Kerri), Adam (Kara), Joshua, Jacob (Taylor), and Elizabeth (Trent). She is also survived by Brothers James Sobbing Jr. (Danelle), Jeff Sobbing and Sister-In-Law Stacy Sobbing. She is also survived by several Grandchildren, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
The Helwig and Sobbing family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses who provided care and compassion to Mary in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, honorariums may be directed to John Helwig or Matthew Helwig to assist in Mary's funeral fund.
A Visitation for Mary will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Dale Cemetery.
