

Mary was born on September 17, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska where she grew up in a friendly rural community. In 1959, she graduated from Mercy High School. Before retiring, Mary worked as an administrative assistant in medical records at Methodist Hospital. She was actively involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards, and dancing.
Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Rose Young; brother, John Young; and granddaughter, Michelle Ficke.
Survived by two loving daughters, Cynthia Skinner and Jacqueline Ficke; sons-in-law, Jon Skinner and David Ficke; six grandchildren, Derrick Skinner, Kristine Skinner, Amber Ficke, Matthew Ficke, Evelyn Ficke, and Candace Ficke.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westgate Assisted Living as well as Haven Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Mary in her final days. She unfortunately had to leave us, and will be greatly missed. We will always carry her memory in our hearts until we are together again.
Prayer for Eternal Rest: "Loving Father, we entrust Mary to your mercy. Grant them eternal rest and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they find peace in your presence. Amen."
A funeral service for Mary will be held Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Kahler Dolce Mortuary, 441 North Washington Street, Papillion, Nebraska 68046. Interment will follow at 1:45 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 2300 S 78th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68124.
