

Morgan was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. As a young man, he was a Boy Scout, ultimately achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He participated in ROTC during college and earned his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University. He went on to obtain a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Alaska.
Morgan had a distinguished military service. He served honorably for more than a decade in the Air Force as a civil engineer. He continued his military career in the Iowa Air National Guard, advancing to the rank of Colonel. For almost two decades, Morgan managed construction crews both stateside and overseas while maintaining a career as a Civil Engineer with the Omaha Public Power District. Morgan will be remembered for serving God, country, family, and friends.
Morgan is survived by his wife, Sharron Hendrickson; children, Lafe Hendrickson (Erica),
Brett Hendrickson (Julie), Kyle Hendrickson (Krista), and Todd Hendrickson (Faith), and grandchildren, Drew Hendrickson (Lexie), McKenna Massey (Rory), Josh Hendrickson, Alex Hendrickson, Lauren Hendrickson, and Luella Dixon-Hendrickson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl A. and Margaret L. Hendrickson, and his younger brother, William G. Hendrickson.
Morgan had a passion for cars and could identify the make, model, and year of many classic cars. He also loved music of all kinds, flowers, and he had an unforgettable eye for design and color. Morgan enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, and devoting time to recording the familial genealogy. Morgan was known for his excitement over trip planning, often pulling out the atlas to create a personalized road trip plan, including planned stops.
In his community, Morgan was active at Southside Assembly of God, serving on the board for several years. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America and the American Legion, and he enjoyed participating in various Men’s Bible studies.
Morgan will be remembered as a tender soul who was respectful, caring, compassionate, kind-hearted, and hard-working. He lived by a code of honor and focused on creating long-lasting, authentic relationships.
Inspired by 1 John 4:7, Morgan would encourage each of us to love God and love each other. May this love encourage us as we celebrate his memory.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the VA Community Living Center (CLC) Nurses and staff for the care they provided during Morgan’s last year of life as well as to Dr. Harris at CHI Midlands for his long-time healthcare support.
Visitation will be held at Kahler Dolce Mortuary, located at 44 N. Washington Street, Papillon, NE. 68046 on December 16, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM.
A military committal service will take place at the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha, NE 68138, at 1:30 PM.
