

Norman E. Rhoten passed away August 28, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita C. Rhoten (Kock). He is survived by his five children & spouses: Pam Rhoten, Kent, WA; Norman Rhoten Jr., Omaha, NE; Carl & Deanna Rhoten , Omaha, NE; Christina & Don Mickeliunas, Omaha, NE; and Jeff Rhoten, Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was a career Navy man, chef and baker. Norman and his wife, Juanita, owned Rhoten’s Diner & Bakery in Springfield, NE. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Forty & Eight, Fleet Reserve Association, Vietnam Veterans of America and Military Order of the Cootie. He held various positions in these organizations over the years. He also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Omaha.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 W. Halleck Street, Papillion. Visitation 1-8 pm with family receiving friends 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, August 30, at Kahler-Dolce Funeral Mortuary, Papillion. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Papillion. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Trinity Lutheran Church, Sierra Leone mission and VFW Post 9558, Springfield, NE.
