High School, loving husband, father, and grandfather, avid Packer fan and friend to everyone,
passed away on November 3rd, 2023.
Richard was the oldest son of the late Andrew and Loretta Yost of Port Washington, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Dennis and Jackie. He is survived by his sisters Kay
Schreiner and Linda Nault of Wisconsin.
Richard graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin, in June of 1961 with a BS in
Mathematics and a commission as a 2nd Lt. US Army Field Artillery. Richard was active in the
US Army ROTC program during his four years at St. Norbert’s. He had a successful career in
the US Army retiring in 1982 with two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retiring, Richard taught
JROTC at Central High School for 19 years.
Richard was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in August of 2018.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Evelyn and two daughters, Melissa and Kerri.
He leaves behind what he loved most in this world, his grandchildren, Sean and Delaney Van
Briesen, and Sydney Yost.
Richard will be laid to rest on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 12:30 at Omaha National Cemetery
with full Military Honors. A small get together will follow at his favorite restaurant, Talus, in
Papillion starting at 2:00 PM.
