Roger L. Fehlhaber

Roger Leon Fehlhaber was born on January 13, 1951 to Gene and Grace nee' Myers Fehlhaber. Roger was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in South Omaha on May 6, 1951 and was also confirmed there on April 11, 1965. Roger was called to his heavenly home on March 17, 2022.

He attended Zion from kindergarten through the eighth grade. He then went to Bryan High where he graduated from in 1969. He was an active member in Zion serving on the board of finance and he was an usher. In 2004 he joined First Lutheran Church in Papillion.

Roger worked several jobs as a teenager, one of them was working at Shakey's Pizza in Bellevue, where he met a co-worker named Bruce. This is where the love story began, Bruce asked Roger if he wanted to go with him to a dance in Elkhorn at the old bowling alley. Bruce was going to introduce Roger to his date's sister. When they walked in he locked eyes with a different sister than the one that Bruce wanted him to meet. That is when he met the love of his life, Jeanie. They went on to go "steady" and on October 21, 1969 they were married. To this long beautiful union Roger and Jeanie were blessed with two sons, Gary in 1970 and Greg in 1974. They made their home in Ralston for 42 years. In 2014 they moved to a home that Roger designed and had built just outside of Valley. After high school Roger went to work for Genuine Parts Company (NAPA) auto parts in the machine shop. He retired from there in 2012. Roger loved to go bass fishing in Minnesota and he also loved to camp and ski.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Grace Fehlhaber; his grandparents, Herman and Dora Fehlhaber and his step-grandmother Esther Fehlhaber and Jacob and Viva Myers; 5 uncles, and 4 aunts.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Jeanie; son, Gary Fehlhaber of Valley; son Greg (Kim) Fehlhaber of Bennington; grandchildren, Grace, Alex, Olivia, Brayden, and Sianna Fehlhaber; uncle, Dean Myers; and many cousins.
