October 1, 1952 – October 13, 2025
Roy Verl Mount was born on October 1, 1952, in Seoul, Korea. He was adopted at a young age and spent his early years in Japan, Hawaii, Tennessee, and South Carolina, where he attended the University of Columbia.
Roy later enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served in military intelligence for 24 years with honor.
After a long and courageous battle, Roy went to rest on October 13, 2025. He was surrounded by his family, with his favorite jazz music playing softly in the background.
Roy was the most devoted husband and loving father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne, his “favorite daughter,” Christina, and his “favorite son” (son-in-law), Ryan.
Anyone who knew Roy knew how deeply he loved his family. They were truly the center of his world, and they loved him just as fiercely and deeply in return.
Roy had an incredible sense of humor and was known for his quick wit and sharp mind. He loved telling jokes and giving everyone static to keep them on their toes. Beneath that playful spirit was the strongest and toughest man we knew, someone who fought so hard and courageously through every health challenge so he could spend more time with the people he loved most.
His kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 11am at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, 441 N Washington St, Papillion NE, 68046, followed by a funeral service at 12pm. Roy will be laid to rest at the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138 with full military honors at 1:30pm.
We will carry you in our hearts until we meet again.
I love you forever, Daddy.
