I love my grandpa he was the kinest person and something I remember is that he would always play barbies with me ❤️  

Shawn was an unbelievable grandfather—I feel lucky for Gracie to have known him as that. His true thoughtfulness and love when it came to all of his family was admirable. 

I am thankful every day that he helped to raise and shape his son, my husband, in to the man he is. I see Shawn in most things Joe does and no doubt he will try pass those same qualities on to our children. 

I never doubted his impact but to see and hear from all of the people whose lives he has touched has been amazing. He was such an encouraging and friendly person. I am so proud to be a part of his family. 

He is in our thoughts and conversations every day—as we miss him so much. We will do our best to honor him and he will never be forgotten.

We just learned of this horrible accident, I am so deeply sorry for your loss.  Shawn was a one of a kind guy that everyone loved.  He will missed by all.

I knew Shawn through the Thursday night golf league where he was greatly admired and loved.  He was truly a joy to play and relax with.  He was someone I looked up to immensely.  His memory will forever live within me.

To Vicki and Shawn's families, my deepest condolences at your loss.  We were old friends from high school, and like Holly said, Shawn was formative part of our youth.  I am thankful to have called him a friend and loved him dearly.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Vickie, Tony, Joe and Julia, I know that we did not have an opportunity to spend a lot of time with Shawn growing up and as we got older and became adults our lives took us on our own unique path in life. Shawn was blessed to be able to take what I know was a very special journey in spending 20 years serving our country and I know that journey was filled with many wonderful times and memories. I know that of all of the amazing things that took place in Shawn's life, the most special event was finding you Vickie and having the opportunity to be a father, friend and role model for Tony and Joe. Julia, when you were born I know it made your dad's life complete as he now had two wonderful sons and a beautiful daughter to serve as a dedicated father. I'm sure Shawn's goal each day was to be the very best husband, dad and grandfather he could be and while I did not spend the kind of time with Shawn I wished I would have now as his brother, I know that he accomplished his goal because of the love you each feel for him and how much he impacted your lives. 

I know that you are greaving right now and the pain and sorrow is very overwhelming! If I can say anything to help ease your pain and sorrow it would be that I know that your dad would be very proud of each of you and you are a reflection of Shawn and everything he stood for and believed in as he lived his life. Always know that your dad will be with you in your heart and you will keep him alive because of what he taught you and how you apply those thing in your life.

To The Family of Mr. Shawn A. Mason:

The Pastor, Elder Jonathan Platt, Officers and, Members of Tabernacle Church of God In Christ, Wichita, Kansas, wishes to offers our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you at the passing of your precious loved one.
  
 May the Lord God comfort each of you and give you strength to go through your days of grief and sorry. There is no failure in God and he promised never to leave us alone, and he will do just what He said he would do. Continue to have faith in God, for he is a strong tower and will bear each of you up in His loving care.

But now they desire a better country that is, a heavenly.  Wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for he had prepared for them a city.  Hebrews 11:16

He has made his transition from earth to his resting place with his Savior Jesus Christ. May you find sweet comfort in your memories of him and may you treasure them in your heart always.

I went to school with Shawn at Bellevue University.  He was such a nice thoughtful guy.  I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  May God wrap you in his loving arms and give you comfort in the knowledge that Shawn is with him and will forever be watching over you.

I worked with Shawn while he served the DCS OF and I was the Superintendent of DCSS LV (Louisville). I always enjoyed his weekly trips into LV  before we both retired. What a joy to be around. He will truly be missed

I just wanted to express our deepest sympathies to all of Shawns family. I worked at DCS Offutt (along with Scott, Randy, Christine, Mark and Allan) up until his retirement from the AF. He was an awesome guy to work for and will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with you all.

I grew up 2 houses from Shawn in Marengo, Ia., even though he was 2 grades ahead of me, I was always included in his activities. Unfortunately, I haven't spoken to Shawn in over 20 years, but after reading all the comments from those that had the privilege to be

Shawn and I got to know each other during our time at STRATCOM. We'd share stories of the Cubs & Cardinals rivalry; talk about our experiences in the Air Force; and talk about work.  He was one of the most professional people I've ever worked with.  He was the "go-to-person" for so many of us at STRATCOM.  He will be sorely missed.  I pray for Vicki and the family during this time of sorrow.  My prayers go out to all of you.

I served with Shawn from 1990 to 1992 at the Offutt AFB Defense Courier Service Station. He was wonderful person and always extended a helping hand. He will be missed dearly.

Shawn made the neighborhood 'Tennis Ball' the funnest game in the world. Also that respected guy in the neighborhood who was just a bit older and I recall a private moment he placed a hand on my shoulder and said "Your Good !", that filled my tank up for a long time and made anything possible.
