My best man in my wedding just passed from this world. I just found out today. Helen, I’m so sorry. I have so many great memories of Steve. Going through high school as my best friend and still through my college years as my partner in crime. I’m so sad.

Steve Barton is my older brother.

When we were growing up, he really looked out for me. We were really close and believe it or not he actually let me tag along with him, sometimes. Even after he moved out of my parent’s home, he invited me over to his house and introduced me to his friends. I felt like I had several big brothers that had my back.

I still remember the conversation Steve and I had shortly after he started dating Helen, he told me he has never felt this way about anyone and he really did not want to screw this up. I just smiled at him and told him he won’t. He was so honored she agreed to be his wife. I never saw him so happy until after the birth of his sons, Travis and Kyle. He was so in love with them he actually glowed. Over the years his love for his family was so evident he could barely contain himself. I have never known anyone prouder of his Boys.

Now we have to talk about his Grandkids, the joy and love really grew. There was a time several years ago where we almost lost Steve, but the powers that be really knew his Grandkids needed to meet him and spend time with their Grandpa.

I always knew Steve would be there for me in a heart beat if I needed him and the same was true for me if he ever needed me.

I Love you Steve and I will miss you so much!
