Tom is survived by his great love, Sue. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Oct. 26. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Matt Pollard; his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel (Spike) and LaToshia Heng, and his beloved granddaughter, Venetta. He'll also be missed by his siblings Rod Heng (Carol), Larry Heng (Jane), Pete Heng (Lula), Ellen Davis (Larry) and Mary Lou Winquest (Ronn), as well as his nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Tom didn't know a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, which served him well during his 30+ years in sales at Wikoff Color Corp. He was quick with a joke or a teasing remark. He was a great storyteller and had us rolling with laughter in minutes with his perfectly timed expressions.
Tom had a deep wanderlust and loved to travel. He and Sue were seasoned road-trippers, criss-crossing the country with their kids to visit everything from the tackiest tourist traps to the most beautiful natural wonders. He was an avid reader, an amateur guitarist and creative beyond measure. His love of Halloween was legendary - he spent countless hours making his own decor, and a few years ago he acted on his dream to start hosting an annual party for his friends and family.
A loving husband, a supportive dad, and a fun-loving Pop. He was generous with his "I love you's" and "I'm proud of you's." It'll be hard to live in a world without Tom. We miss you. We love you. We're proud of you.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Post Event Center, 7400 Q Street, Ralston, NE 68127. Please feel free to wear your favorite Halloween-themed or spooky attire!
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, who will designate them to honor Tom’s memory in a meaningful way.
