Vicki was a maker. She saw beauty in every person and every piece of fabric. Her hands (along with her mouth) never stopped moving. A constant giver of personalized acts of kindness: plates of favorite foods, cozy scarves and hats or a bag made just for you. You rarely left her company empty handed, and surely your spirit was lifted by that contagious laugh or one of her hugs.

She was many different things to many different people and met everyone with love and acceptance.

Vicki could make anything she put her mind to but her most brilliant piece was the life she stitched together, one panel at a time. Some panels are modern, others more traditional. Some are playful, others intricate and ornate. Some are simple, others are simply ugly. Family, friends, conversations and adventures all colorfully quilted into our memories, that will keep us warm, until we meet again.

My friend, my sister. We didn't talk a lot but when we did it was like no time had passed. We both found comfort in fabric and making things. Our last trip together took us to one of the largest fabric stores on the east coast. It is wonderful to have shared that with someone who understood and was excited as I was. She is rare talent and beautiful soul. I miss you Vicki.

Dean, Beth and Eric - Thank you for sharing her with me. Grandma's Attic, Venice, Germany, Alabama to Michigan would not have been the same without her. I love you all so much. I will keep in touch.

I was shocked and saddened to learn about the death of Vicki. She was such a kind, beautiful soul. She would do anything within her power to help others. I met Vicki over 20 years ago and an instant friendship followed. We referred to each other’s as sisters. Family, please accept my deepest condolences. I am thinking of you during this difficult time.

You were the most selfless person I knew and I love you baby sister. We talked about going to diamond mine this summer but you were the real diamond. We went on scavenger hunts and had a blast ,shared our ghost stories and secrets. I loved your stories about all the places you visited. I will greatly miss you.

Vicki was indeed an artist. Saw several projects she had done or was working on. Absolute genius in selecting color and quilting design for my quilts. Thoughts and prayers to her family for their loss. We’ll miss seeing her at JoAnn’s, too.
