William C. Methven Jr. (Bill) of Papillion, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 77 years and 6 months. He was born on November 15, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, where he grew up alongside his mother, father, and younger brother.
Bill graduated from the University of Denver in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Hospitality Management. He began his career as a Franchisee Developer for Village Inn before relocating to Omaha, where he joined Godfather’s Pizza. During his time there, he served as Vice President of Operations and went on to own two of his own Godfather’s Pizza locations.
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Bill had a deep passion for fly fishing and treasured time spent with his family in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. A golf enthusiast his entire life, he also enjoyed countless rounds on the course with friends, finding both joy and camaraderie in the game. He was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos—a loyalty he proudly passed down to his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Charles Methven Sr. and Margaret Methven, and his younger brother, Robert Methven.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Carol Methven; his daughter, Nicole Methven (spouse: Michael Bradshaw); and his son, Broden Methven (spouse: Lauren McNee-Methven).
The Methven family extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire Hillcrest Hospice Care team for their exceptional compassion and support during Bill’s final days.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, 441 North Washington Street, Papillion, Nebraska 68046. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m.
