Ada Lee “Tot” Green, 89, of Powderly, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11th, at the Chicota Baptist Church with Rev. Rocky Burrow and Rev. Buddy Barnett officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Graveside services are scheduled for Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in Wood County near Winnsboro. Mrs. Green, the daughter of James Reggie & Nilla Dry Treadway, was born Sept. 9, 1925, in DeLeon, Texas. She was a member of Chicota Baptist Church. Tot was affectionately known as “The Pie Maker of Lamar County”. She and her husband, Arthur “Jim” Green, worked with the senior citizens at Powderly Baptist Church and at the Bounds Baptist Church for over 13 years. While at Bounds Baptist Church she sang in the choir and was active in the bus ministry. She was a member of Primetime, enjoyed traveling and was an avid 42 player. Survivors include her husband, Arthur “Jim” Green, whom she married on July 16, 1944, building 70 years of family and memories, four children, Judy Millican & husband Karl of Red Oak, Danny Green & wife Becky of Cleburne, Bonnie Green of Hurst and Connie Talbott & husband Billy of Powderly, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one brother, James Allan Treadway & wife Ann of Ft. Worth along with many nieces & nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Louise Pratt and one brother, Ralph Treadway. Casket bearers will be her six grandsons: Brandon Millican, Nathan Hosford, Clayton Green, Aaron Green, Billy Shane Talbott and Rodney Talbott. Honorary casket bearers will be Laning Ishmael, Bill Thomason, Claude Hall, James Treadway, Gary Archer, Marshall Hall, Jack Davis, David Knowles, Brad Peveto, Sean Gray, Dave Hellman and Don Gonzales. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Pine Tree Ranch and Hospice Plus for the love and care given their loved one.
