

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug.7th at the Evergreen Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Stout officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
Betty, the daughter of Sam Coker & Palijo Hedric Coker, was born September 19, 1931.
Her career with AT&T spanned 35 years before her retirement. Following retirement, she served many years as a volunteer with the Greenville Veterans Auxiliary, the VFW, and the Disabled American Veterans.
Betty married J D Harwell, and he preceded her in death. She then married Richard A. Powers, and they had many years together before his passing. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Dean Harwell and four siblings, Ann Chandler Campbell, Roy Coker, Leon Coker, and Margie Coker.
Survivors include one son, John Harwell & wife Piper, a granddaughter, Jennifer Leverett & husband Nathan, great grandchildren, Gabrielle Harwell & fiancé Stephen, Jordan Leverett & wife Caitlyn, Jarrett Leverett, and Rebekah Leverett, a great great grandson, Jaxon Jones, and siblings, Jim Coker & wife Marie, Ben Coker & wife Jeanne, Nelda Harrell & husband Bobby, and Bob Coker & Sonya along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff of Pine Tree Ranch Assisted Living and Platinum Hospice for the care given to their loved one.
