Russell Bryant Robbins, 64, of Yantis, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at UT Health-Quitman. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Harper officiating. Burial will be made in Tuggle Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Bryant, the son of Maurieace “Pete” Robbins & Patsy Kilpatrick Robbins, was born Sept. 23, 1961, in Clarksville, TX.
He enjoyed sports and participated in baseball, track, & football during high school. He graduated from North Lamar High School in Paris, TX in 1980, and that same year he began Paris Junior College where he graduated. At this point, Bryant took a break from his higher education and began working. In 2000, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Amber University in Dallas. He worked for 21 years for TP&L as a designer before beginning work at the United Power Co-op in Colorado. At the Co-op he was acting CEO, then COO, and later Executive Vice President. On Jan. 20, 2024, he retired and moved to Lake Fork. He was an avid bass fisherman and loved golfing. Bryant was a true-blue fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He received his private pilot’s license and flew recreationally. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Quitman. Bryant was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Brian Robbins. Survivors include his wife, Laura Nelson Robbins, whom he married on Dec. 12, 1993, seven children, Russell “Rusty” Robbins of Seattle, WA, Richard “Rick” Robbins & wife Andee of Alabama, Jerry Robbins of Alabama, Gary Robbins of Colorado, Cristie McClain of Texas, Jami Childers & husband Ronny of Oklahoma, and Justin Suddeth & wife Rylie of Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two siblings, Dale Robbins of Pittsburg and Linda Robbins of Paris and an aunt, Marveline Langston of Clarksville along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Rusty Robbins, Justin Suddeth, Rocky Latham, Ricky Robbins, Scott Springfield, and Pat Diomede. Honorary bearers will be: Joe Pecina, Dale Robbins, Jerry Robbins, and Gary Robbins.
