Chad served as a Paramedic for the city of Paris for 16 years. He also served with the Paris Police Department as a Reserve officer and he was a member of the S.W.A.T. team. Chad’s goal in life was to serve others and make a difference, and he did by serving as an ordained minister from 1992 to 2016. It's' been many years since I've seen Chad, but I will always remember him as the kind, eager paramedic that he was. He was truly a servant to his fellow man, and I am sorry that he has left us.

To the family, I know your loss, is heavens gain....even though I know you were not ready to give him up....but in his current state of health...You all shared him with his Savior...Knowing that some day soon....You too will meet him on the other side. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you and understand death is only temporary...One loss of breath to the next breath in the arms of our Savior. Gaylon Maddox

I will never forget and we still tell the story: I had taken Elise to sirloin stockade to eat with Stewart and there was a tray of food and drink I believe . Elise was probably around 3 or 4 maybe . Chad said Elise pull that tray off the table and she got under the table and pulled the edge of the tray and down it came !!! Bless her heart she minded very well !!! Lol.

Chad Barnes lived across the street from us in Paris, Texas for a number of years. He was a very energetic young man. He and my son,Chip, had some good times playing and wrestling the whole time we lived there.

Chad and family were called to pastor our church in Cooper when I was a young adult. During the years they were there, Chad and Jennifer started a worship band and taught us so much about leading music. He got his pilots license during that time and flew my mom, cousin and I in a tiny Cessna airplane all the way to Del Rio, Texas for our first meet with a mission group that’s now turned into over 20 years in the mission field for my parents. I will NEVER forget kissing the ground when we landed, I can’t believe he talked us into that trip! My now husband started attending New Life and Chad led us through pre marital counseling and married us 18 years ago. There are so many memories I could list from Blake singing ‘when I grow up’ to Jenna following me around with that little mischievous grin. Miss Elizabeth came after we married and moved away, but I know how much her daddy adored her. He loved all 4 of his children so much when they were little, and I know how proud of them he was in their adult years. We didn’t keep in touch much through the years, but I know he and Jennifer were each other’s rocks and always looked to THE Rock when things were tough. We love this family and are so thankful and blessed to have been part of their lives for the few years we were. We will be praying for all you guys in the coming days. ♥️

Chad and I both worked at Paris EMS along with all of his other friends and colleagues. He always had a smile on his face. If you didn't have one he would try to find out why, then help you find yours.
I knew him as a professional and always caring paramedic from the moment we met in the 80s.
He gifted me a large metal container with the Paris EMS patch on it recently.
I attempted to pay him for it, but he wouldn't have it. I will keep it to always remember him and his generosity toward me.
God speed
