Clara Christine Kelley

Clara Christine Kelley, 92, of Reno, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Hutchison officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be made in Meadowbrook Gardens. Mrs. Kelley, the daughter of Roy & Jessie Levina Floyd Powers, was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Minter. She married L. S. Kelley, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1975. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mikial Kelley. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Amarillo, and when she & her husband moved to Lamar County she was a beautician in Sumner. She & Mr. Kelley owned & operated Kelley’s BBQ until his death in 1975. Clara was a member of the Sumner – Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Caldwell of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren, James Kelley & wife Barbara of McKinney, Kelley Caldwell Halliday & husband Mike of Las Vegas, NV and Joey Caldwell of Richardson, a brother, Talma Powers of Amarillo, a sister, Ruby Hoover of Denison along with several nieces & nephews.
