

George Richard Bueker, 78, of Paris, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at his home while surrounded by his family. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled memorial services for 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9th, at First Christian Church in Paris with Rev. Lory Hunt & Patrick Whalen officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Satruday, August 22nd in the family plot at Hollst-Lawn Cemetery in Yutan, NE. George was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Newton, KS. At a young age he worked for his father at the family service station. Before and during college, at Emporia State University in Emporia, KS, he worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS. Following graduation from college George began his teaching career while still working on and receiving his Master’s Degree in Mathematics. He taught junior high school and then at Burke High School in Omaha, NE. His career spanned 31 years before his retirement. He was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Paris where he was active in Men’s Fellowship and was currently serving on the minister search committee. He was preceded in death by his father & step-mother, Earl & Ethel Bueker, his mother & step-father, Irene & Harry Tryon, a brother, Bill Bueker & wife Louise and a sister-in-law, Imy Bueker. Survivors include his wife, Lois, five children, Steve Whalen & wife Deborah Paris of Clarksville, TX, Larry Whalen & wife Sue of Lincoln, NE, Cindy Hansen of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Richard Whalen of Paris TX and Patrick Whalen & wife Marcia of Missouri Valley, Iowa, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, a brother, Jim Bueker of Newton, KS along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family requests that memorials be made to First Christian Church, 780 NE 20th, Paris, TX 75460.
