James M. Reed, 77, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13th, at the Open Air Pavilion of Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Doug Holt officiating. The family will receive friends at the pavilion on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Mr. Reed, the son of Luther & Louise Taylor Reed, was born Sept. 9, 1939, in Minter. His career as a Paris Firefighter spanned thirty one years before his retirement as Deputy Chief. He was a faithful member of Paris Church of God. James was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Dorothy Trimble, Helen Reeves and Nancy Buck. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Henry Reed whom he married in 1959, one son, Tony Reed & wife Cindy of Paris, two grandsons, Colby Reed & wife Meagan of Powderly and Garrett Reed & wife Ashley of Blossom, two great grandsons, Stryker Reed and Grayson Reed, a sister, Wanda Clark of Paris along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
