

Jane Holland Polk, 91, of Paris, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at her home while surrounded by family. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Hines & Rev. Eugene Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Jane, the daughter of Benjamin Dred & Ora Burrous Holland, was born May 21, 1923, in Taylortown. She graduated from Paris High School in 1939. On May 21, 1940, she married J D Polk, building 72 years of family and memories before his death on Oct. 27, 2012. Her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company spanned thirty-two years from Feb. 10, 1950 – Aug. 22, 1982. She worked in offices in Paris, Bonham, Mercedes, and retired while working in Dallas. In 1970, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. While living in Dallas she did cake decorating and all the money from her cake sales was given to the church. Jane had a ministry through her baking, writing letters and sending countless cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, J D, her parents and her brother, Benjamin Dred “Ben” Holland & his wife Dorothy Mae. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Polk Watson of Paris, grandchildren, Jarvis Watson & wife Reneé of Cunningham, Deana Blevins & husband Reese of Blossom, Brad Watson of Taylortown and Bruce Watson & Glenna Kelley of Reno, great grandchildren, Jalon Watson, Jardin Watson, Trig Watson, Dillon Gibson & wife Hayley, Rustin Blevins & wife Taylor, Jordan Blevins, JaNaé Blevins, Brooklyn Legate, Bradlee Watson & wife Brittnee, Brett Watson & wife Courtney, Gavin Watson and Kenleigh Watson, great great grandchildren, Karter Gibson, Camdyn Watson, Baylon Watson and Callaway Paige Watson, along with extended family members and a plethora of friends.
