

John Edward Myers, 65, of Paris, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his home. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Duane Hamil officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born July 21, 1950, in Clarksville. His career as Plant Superintendent for Wall Concrete Pipe spanned nineteen years before his retirement. John helped construct the hat on top of the Eiffel Tower, and his name is listed on the plaque at the tower. An avid CB operator and CB Radio Technician, he was known by many as “Phantom 409”. He was preceded in death by his father, J. D. “Slim” Myers, his mother, Fannie Marie Miller, and a brother, Don Miller. Survivors include his wife, Susan Kimble Myers, whom he married on July 25, 1970, building forty-five years of family and memories, two sons, John Alan Myers & wife Sadie of Paris and Michael Aaron Myers & wife Amanda of Tigertown, grandchildren, Dustin Ray Myers & wife Shelbi, Whitney Myers, Jonathon Myers, Steven Harrelson and Jacob Myers, great grandchildren, Kolby Myers, Addison Myers, and Liam Newsom, siblings, Sammy Myers & wife Sherrie, Mary Smith & husband Leon, Josie Smith & Jack, Jacquita Smith & husband Dale and Velma Smith & husband Don along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: John Alan Myers, Michael Aaron Myers, Dustin Ray Myers, Jonathon Myers, Steven Harrelson, Jacob Myers & Jack Baker.
