Joshua Ethan Moody was born on 1/21/1990 in Paris, Tx to Carla and Fillman Moody. He had three older sisters growing up in Powderly, Tx. He attended North Lamar ISD while he was young. Josh was a very hardworking man. From when he was a teen with no children to when he had a house full of kids, he always took pride in his work. Josh has worked for Pepsi the last three years. Even though he hasn’t been there long, the Pepsi family was a huge part of him. He was proud to work for Pepsi. Anytime he was out, he would point out the different Pepsi products and state facts about them. He met his wife, Sara Moody, when they were both 17 years old. They met through work and became the best of friends. After two years of being friends, they started dating. From that moment on, they were each other's everything. They married on 10/20/2012 in Paris, Tx. Their love was beautiful and everlasting. Josh was Sara’s other half and she will forever miss him. Josh had a very caring and selfless soul. He helped strangers with flat tires whether they needed help changing the tire, needed a ride or just needed a tow. He would help others move, mow their yard, work on their car, no task was too hard for him. If you needed Josh, he was there for you. It didn’t matter if he had just gotten off of work and he was exhausted; he would help you with anything. Even the small gestures. There have been many times he would be out shopping, and he would help someone get something off the top shelf because they could not reach it. Josh helped the elderly get down slippery steps or in and out of cars. He saw people who needed help, and they didn’t have to ask. He just stepped up. Josh was quick to laughter and smiles. He would say that was why he had so many wrinkles, because he always had a smile on his face. Josh’s favorite hobbies were playing games. Not just video games but all kinds of games. He loved card games, board games, lazor tag, sports, any kind of game and he was ready to play. One of his favorite things was to play Dungeons and Dragons. Josh looked forward to his game days with his DND friends. Josh made friends with everyone. He did not care about status, money, or appearance. He always saw the best in everyone, and he gave the best of himself to everyone. Josh was a loving son to Carla and Fillman Moody. He loved his parents deeply and always tried to help them in any way he could. He enjoyed spending time with them. He was thrilled to have them over and cook for his parents. He loved spending holidays with them and celebrating holiday traditions.
Josh was the baby brother to Lee Ann, Terri, and Sarah. Even though he was the baby, he was bigger than them. He loved them deeply and was protective of them as if he was the big brother.
Josh was an amazing husband. Josh and Sara share 16 years together, nearly 13 of those years married. They fell in love at a young age and spent over half their lives together. Josh was the father to five children. Kerra was not biologically his daughter. Josh didn’t care about that. He raised her from a baby, and he loved her unconditionally. She was his daughter regardless of blood and he was fiercely protective of that. Josh and Kerra share many memories of softball together. She played from Tball up until High School and Josh was her biggest fan. He helped her practice and even helped coach some of her teams.
Jayla looks just like Josh. She has his nose and some facial features. They share the same love for puzzles. There were many times Josh helped Jayla assemble 3D or Lego puzzles. Josh has been teaching Jayla how to drive. They shared many meaningful conversations about friends, school, and his work. Melanie is Josh’s youngest daughter and shares more physical features with him than her mother. She’s going to be tall, and she gets that from her dad. Melanie and Josh loved playing games together. No matter the type of game, they enjoyed their time together. Melanie inherited Josh’s math skills. Josh has deeply loved Melanie since the day she was born. Mariah and Isaiah were not Josh’s blood but when they needed a home, he did not hesitate inviting them into our family. They quickly became more than a niece and nephew. In Josh’s eyes, they were his son and daughter. In time, they came around to seeing Josh as their dad. All three of them shared a joy at playing DND and watching anime together. Josh would help Mariah with her math homework. Josh would always be able to find Mariah’s glasses when they were lost, and he always teased her about it. Mariah painted a beautiful painting for Josh as his Father’s Day gift. It was a knight in shining armor because that is what Josh represented to her. Isaiah and Josh were two peas in a pod. They enjoyed playing video games together. They shared lots of laughter together. Josh showed Isaiah how to be a better man. Josh has given Isaiah guidance with his emotions and how to be a good influence. Isaiah has enlisted in the army and Josh was so proud of everything he has accomplished towards this decision. Josh loved these two so much. Josh’s love had no limits. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Cynthia Anne Richardson, 10/14/1997, and Lois Kinser, 10/11/2015.
