Juliann Wood

Passed away on January 11, 2021

Juliann Wood of Plano, passed away at Paris Regional Medical Center on Monday, January 11, 2021. Ever the middle child, Juliann was born the second child and first of a set of twins to James G. and Dee Wood in Texarkana. Surviving is her mother, Dee; her brother, Tim; her furry child, Mr. Bojangles; her extended and loving family, The John D. & Virginia {Ma} Wright Family of Talco; two Aunts, June Strohsahl of Longview and Betty Burns of Rock Ford, Illinois; uncle, James Cagle and wife Glenda, of Collinsville, Alabama; great-aunt, Lorene Tadlock of Cleveland, Alabama; special friend, Dr. Devabrata Ganguly; numerous cousins, and many-many friends. She reunited with her twin sister, Denise; her father, James G. Wood who died on October 25, 2019 and she missed terribly; also preceding are her grandparents, Choyce M. and Lucy Wood and Reverend Clyde T. and Bernice Green; uncle, Jerry Wood; aunts, Judy Cole and Ann Cagle both of whom she was named after. Juliann had a giving soul and was passionate about many life issues. She was a gift giver—always showing up with gifts for family and friends. Juliann also enjoyed her boozy brunches and shopping with her friends. She was also a planner. Too many years working in the travel business gave way to always having an agenda with each minute planned. A weekend with Juliann came with a timed schedule. Juliann loved travel and loved even more taking her family and friends with her on trips all around the world. She began working in the Travel Industry right out of High School and for 20 years she worked in Paris, Tyler, and Plano. For the last 15 years, she has been employed by Cirro Energy/NRG. Juliann will be having a private graveside service as was done for her sister 3 weeks ago. She will be buried in Bogata Cemetery. Bright Holland Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. A Public Memorial for Juliann and Denise Wood will be held in late Spring. If you would like to make donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, you may do so at https://www.rmhc.org/donate, or to the charity of your choice.

Oh I miss you so. We were so a like in several different ways. Ju, I can just imagine what Denise said when you arrived! I bet it wasn't a hug, I bet you were met with a stern look and then you were told, "What are YOU doing here, this is MY show". It's just the way you both are. I'm not going to write what I imagine your response was because I don't think I could write it on here! I'll love you forever Sister Twin. And I assure you as long as I am living I will keep our promise to one another. Tim (Brother) and Dee my heart is with you.

Love you so much,
Carolyn Strawn Gibson

To the Wood's Family, My heart and Deepest Condolences go out to your family.

My Team "NRG Escalated Collections Department" and I will miss Juliann very very much, she was a very beautiful soul, always happy willing to help in anyway possible and with a cheerful attitude. She was one of my go to girls for special CIRRO agreements at work, and she was loved by all who knew her. My prayers go out to your family for the loss of your two beautiful daughters and their Dad, may they rejoice in heaven as yet another angel has ascended. God Bless and give you all His Perfect Peace at this time of sorry.

Your Friend at NRG

Juliann could create many favorite memories. She has been a beautiful bright spot for all. My personal favorite was making a road trip from Dallas to Paris, meeting Denise, and her miniature donkeys. We had such fun. Seeing up close and personal her love and adoration she had of family was precious. It is why I loved her. Fly high my friend, Juliann. Love you, Lisa Neathery

Tim and Dee both of you are in my thoughts daily. Your girls were my first friends when I moved into town. Your family took care of two guys trying to find our way through a new adventure together. You two are very special to me. Know that all my love is with you both.

AND Bojangles is still a punk!

I worked with Juliann at Cirro/NRG until I retired. She was always a ray of sunshine. When I was having a bad day I would talk to her and she would make me laugh a lot and my day would be so much better. I pray for the family and friends. I also pray for Bo, she loved him so much! God bless all of you!
