Kenneth Carson Jones

Kenneth Carson Jones, 14, of Powderly, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston following a lifetime battle with Cystic Fibrosis, which he fought courageously. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6th, at East Paris Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 – 3 p.m. Tuesday. Carson, the son of Kenneth & Brandi Garrison Jones, was born April 28, 2002, in Sulphur Springs. He attended Trinity Christian Academy through 5th grade. Carson then entered Stone Middle School where he was an 8th grader. He was manager of the 8th grade football team and a member of the band. He enjoyed golf, Legos, and YouTube. Carson was a member of East Paris Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Kenneth & Brandi, siblings, Devin Jones and Abigail Jones both of Powderly, grandparents, Mark & Pamela Garrison of Powderly, Bertha Lois Ingram of Paris and Ray Jones of Paris, a great grandmother, Ruth Garrison of Detroit, aunts & uncles: Kris & Lesley Garrison of Midlothian, Josh & Jennifer Garrison of Deport, Allen & Sherry McCool of Arthur City, Kevin Gates of Paris, and Brian & Penny Jones of Reno along with many cousins and a plethora of friends. A special thanks to great aunt and uncle, Liz Ann & Keith Burkart of Cypress. Casket bearers will be: Devin Jones, Zach Garrison, Matt McCool, Ethan Gates, Brandon Jones and Lukas Nesbit. Honorary casket bearers will be: Cy Garrison and Christian Jones. The family requests that memorials be made to Donate Life America at donatelife.net
