Lacrecia Nadine (Scott) Risinger
Lacrecia Risinger peacefully entered heaven Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was born on August 15, 1942, in Paris, Texas. She attended Paris schools graduating in 1960.
She married Philip Risinger on July 15, 1961. After a brief time in Florida while Philip served as Airman First Class in the USAF, they returned to Paris where they made their home for over 61 years. Lacrecia worked at Sears for several years and was a faithful wife and mother. She graduated from Paris Junior College in 1980 and East Texas State University in 1982 pursuing Early Childhood Education (specializing in reading). She began her teaching career in 1982 at Parker Elementary (NLISD) then moved to Higgins elementary (NLISD) to begin her passion of teaching kindergarten, where she taught for over twenty years. Lacrecia was also active in church teaching students about Jesus Christ the foundation of her faith. She dedicated her life to educating children. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling and time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Glen Scott and her parents Max and Evelyn Scott.
Lacrecia is survived by her husband Philip; her only child Tralisa Leigh Sheridan (Bo); two grandchildren, Leigha Youngblood (Kelby) of Bethlehem, Landry Sheridan of Bethlehem; two great grandchildren, Dallas and Denver Youngblood.
Philip and the family extend their appreciation to David & Kelly Merritt, Christine Lenoir, Brandy, Brie Coker, Bri Ramsey (Chambers Hospice), Billie Jo Sapp (Embark Care) and Tony VanDerWilt for their loving care and support.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 2 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 3509 CR 42600, Paris, TX 75462, with Rev. Tony VanDerWilt officiating. Bright-Holland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
