Larry Alan Reffitt, 79, of Blossom, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2026, in Paris, Texas. Larry was born to Fred Reffitt Sr. and Dorothy (McReynolds) Reffitt on June 9, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana. After high school he served in the United States Navy. He was a long-time employee of Eli Lilly and Company and was there through countless breakthroughs in pharmaceutical medicines with a career that spanned thirty years from 1970 to 2000. In his younger years, he was a fan of the radio station Q95 and the Bob and Tom morning show and was a lifelong fan of the Indiana Pacers. He loved all racing from boats to Indy Cars and was a dedicated NASCAR follower. In his spare time, he loved to read the newspaper and was known to take a quick trip to the casino and enjoy a slot or two with usually having very good luck. He was very creative whether it be his penny castle he built, his wall of records, or a plaster wall design not to mention he could fix anything. Larry was a quiet man but a people person. He settled in the Blossom Novice area and made many friends through the kindness he showed others. He did odd jobs for people and neighbors with sometimes refusing pay. He spent his life helping others and was known by nicknames such as "Larry the Painter" and "The Gatekeeper". His kindness went beyond people whether it be farm animals, a stray porch cat, or a dog that was the lucky recipient of a peanut butter cracker from the stash he kept in his truck.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Fred Reffitt Sr. and Dorothy Reffitt; brothers Donnie Reffitt, Fred Reffit Jr., and Bill Reffitt; sisters Judy Ryan, and Dolly Bisbee; brothers John Reffitt, and Lonnie Reffitt.
He is survived by sister Dorothy "Peaches" Shaw (Michael Shaw), brothers Tracy Reffitt, and Kevin Reffitt; daughters Joanna Reffitt, and Kerri Reffitt (Michelle Pippin); grandchildren Mark Royal, Ashley Bush, and Geddy Royal; great grandchildren Kash Webb, and Rylee Royal; nephews Larry Lazo, and Andy Bryant, niece Kim Hoehne; cousins Rebecca "Becky" Sexton, Barbara "Barb" Sexton, and Veronica "Vicky" Kemmis.
His family will cherish the memories and miss him dearly. He also leaves behind the Blossom Novice community of friends and neighbors that became his extended family.
If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now, 'cause there's too many places I've got to see.
