Lee Roy Preston

Lee Roy Preston, 85, of Paris, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 28th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sanders & Brad Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Preston, the son of Dewey Johnson Preston, Sr. and Annie Estelle Hutchings Preston, was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Lake Creek. He was a dairy farmer and farmer for many years and drove a school bus for Chisum ISD for over twenty years. Lee Roy served on the Delmar School Board and the board of American Milk Producers Inc. He was a member of the Midway Christian Church. He married Doris June Jones, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2011, after building sixty-three years of family and memories. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jason Kyle Miller, and siblings, Dewey Johnson Preston, Jr., James Timothy Preston, Sterling Pierce Preston, Mae Marie Preston Burket and Ray Stanley Preston. Survivors include his children, Brenda June Preston Miller & husband Joe, Ronnie Lee Preston & wife Kay and Gayla Marie Preston Jeffery & husband Kelly, grandchildren; Brad & Chayanna Miller, Eric & Kim Miller, Kasey & Becky Floyd, Kaitlin & Justin Bradburry, Tyler Jeffery & Hailey Stringer, Dale & Laurie Williams, Timothy & Daria Parks, Toby & Crystal Preston, Jory Preston, Stacy & Brad Eatherly and Chad & Ingrid Graham, great grandchildren; Chris & Shelbi Barnes, Caleb Miller, Carly Miller, Tate Miller, Lauren Miller, Mason Miller, Kayden Floyd, Haley & Alexis Williams, Alyssa Parks, Brittany McNeal, Megan & Dakota Swindell, Elizabeth Preston, Brandon Brewer, Kyle & Jennifer Eatherly and Lacey Preston, great great grandchildren; Brayden Barnes, Tatum Barnes and Aubriee Morriss, brothers; John Preston and Douglas Preston, sisters, Mary Ruth Vaughan, Ann Lamb and Gloria Fitzgerald, sisters-in-law, Ruby Preston, Johnnie Preston and Peggy Preston along with many nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends. Casket bearers will be: Eric Miller, Tyler Jeffery, Jory Preston, Toby Preston, Tate Miller & Kasey Floyd. Honorary bearers will be: Doug Sanders, Jimmy Preston and Jerry Preston.
