Mrs. Kennedy, the daughter of William Walter Lewis & Emma Lue Dingman Lewis, was born on Aug. 31, 1932, in Dallas, TX.
She graduated from Paris High School and moved to Dallas. There she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. On December 6, 1953, she married Kenneth Preston Kennedy, building 38 years of family and memories before his death on Nov. 2, 1992. The couple made their home in Paris where Martha worked at Lee Optical in downtown Paris. She later began a career with First Federal Saving & Loan (First Federal Community Bank) which spanned many years before her retirement. A faithful Christian, she was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Scott Lewis, and a sister, Billie Sherley.
Survivors include a daughter, Kennette Kennedy and her life companion Geoff Clark along with many nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.
