She enjoyed the fellowship of her teaching colleagues and many friends at Tallowood Baptist Church. Nita Joyce was married to Carroll S. Henckel of Houston from 1988 until his passing in 2004, and is survived by step-son Kenneth Henckel, step-daughters Kim Henkhaus, and Tami Franklin, and preceded by her stepdaughter Glenda Henckel. I am a longtime friend and classmate of Nita Joyce. We were classmates at the Rosa Pearson Elementary School in West Paris. We then moved on to Paris High School in the freshman class and played in the band through high school and graduated in the class of 1953. Finally, we were classmates for two years at Paris Junior College. Nita was a wonderful friend to me and all of our classmates as we participated in school activities through the years. She will be fondly remembered by all of us. On behalf of our high school class please accept our condolences to the family.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences to the Henckel family and friends for the passing of your dear loved one. Losing a loved one in death is never easy. One day many will have the opportunity to live again. May the hope of everlasting life sustain and comfort you during this difficult time (John 17:3). When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure in your heart and it lives forever. May the wonderful treasures fill your hearts with love and bring you peace.

Such fond memories of Nita as a sweet neighbor and welcoming friend. Always available for a visit with a listening ear and kind advice. She loved her family and loved to share stories of them and her life growing up. A beautiful Christian woman who is sure to be thrilled with heaven and
reuniting with her loved ones who have gone before. Not gone... but gone ahead. Till we meet again.
I love you , Nita❤ Kathy
