Norma Jean Francis

Norma Jean Francis, 85, of Paris, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9th, at Bright-Holland Funeral home with Rev. Bill Felts & Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove. Mrs. Francis, the daughter of Thomas W. & Beulah White Martin, was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Tigertown. She graduated from high school in Direct. At the age of 17 she enrolled in beauty school and received her license at the age of 18. Norma retired at the age of 78 following a career that spanned sixty years. She owned a beauty shop & lived in Honey Grove for almost 30 years before moving to Paris where she worked until retirement. She loved her church, East Paris Baptist Church, and enjoyed every genre of music. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Francis Hargrave. Survivors include her husband, James H. Francis, Jr., a son, Thomas M. Bass & wife Kathy of Paris, a daughter, Marian A. Thomas & husband Charlie of Bonham, grandchildren, Cassandra Hafter & husband David, Crystal Johnson & Harry, Cory J. Thomas & wife Lindsey and Bryan J. Thomas, great grandchildren, Piper Thomas, Bralin Thomas, Chalyn Conary, Desarae Johnson and Hannah Hafter, a step-son, Dennis Francis, one sister, Tommie Mercer & husband Joe along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. .
