Robert John Sawyer, 45, of Pattonville, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Paris Regional Health. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Meadowbrook Gardens under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Robert was born on January 30, 1981, in Paris, Texas. He graduated from Prairiland High School and attended East Texas State University. Throughout his life, Robert worked as a teacher and later as a deli manager. He was a devoted member of the Pattonville Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time fishing. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tomas Sawyer and Andrew Shoemake. Robert is survived by his parents, Velmajean and Stan Shoemake; his sisters, Victoria Odneal and husband Josh, Summer Roxanne Futrell and husband Adam, Britnye Millsap and husband Michael, and Courtnye Dixon and husband Bill; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will cherish his memory.
