

Sarah A. Chappell, 75, of Paris, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19th, at Paris Church of God with Rev. Doug Holt & Pastor Joseph Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Chappell, the daughter of Minor & Ruth Fields Bishop, was born March 23, 1941, in Paris. On April 6, 1957, she married Elzie F. Chappell, building 49 years of family and memories before his death on April 6, 2006. Sarah was a member of Paris Church of God. She served as a caregiver to others for many years. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Tony Wallace, Jr. and by a sister, LaFarris Norrell. Survivors include seven children, Jimmy Chappell & wife T. J. of Blossom, Danny Chappell of Paris, Johnny Chappell & wife Linda of Mesquite, Terry Chappell of Paris, Mark Chappell & wife Kim of Paris, Rebecca Thornton of Monroe, LA and Barbara Hughes & husband Robert of Paris, 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Joshua, Sarah Elizabeth, Erin, Eric, Sonya, Ryan, Joseph, Jessica, Jacob, Russell & Amanda, 18 great grandchildren, one sister, Joyce Waggoner of Brookston, two honorary sons, Jeff Chappell & wife Cindy of Paris and Jackie Chappell & wife Renee of Paris along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Eric Lowman, Joe Matthews, Jacob Matthews, Russell Matthews, Ryan Matthews and Patrick Mills. Honorary bearers will be: Christopher Chappell and Joshua Chappell.
