

Thomas Foy “Catfish” King, 74, of Brookston, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Brentwood Terrace Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Myre and Chad Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in McCrury Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm, Friday at the funeral home. Mr. King was born July 13, 1940 in Lamar County to William Thomas King and Lillian Irene Sanford King. He and Patricia Anthony were married by Bro. J.D. Watson, September 9, 1960 in Cunningham, building over 54 years of family and memories. Mr. King raised his grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. He and Mrs. King loved traveling and “going to the lake”. It was well known that Mr. King was an avid hunter and fisherman, as was evident by his nickname, “Catfish”. Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Haskell King and two sisters, Shirlene Owen and Linda Laster. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; two sons, Tommy King, Jr. and Danny King & wife Tonia, both of Paris; three grandchildren, Daniel Dakota King, Jennifer King and Justin Michael King; 3 great-grandchildren, Bentley King, Ansley King and Railey King; one sister, Billie Ford & husband Leonard of Cunningham; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Ausmus & husband Charles, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
