

Troy H. Bright, 83, of Paris, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Paris Regional Medical Center Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Blackshear officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Bright, the son of Hoice Buford and Opal McDade Bright, was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Quitman. He served in the U. S. Army during the last days of the Korean Conflict. On March 8, 1957, he married Alma Lou Low, building 53 years of family and memories before her death on Aug. 28, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Conly Nuss and a sister, Norma Lea Blalock. His career as the Power Plant Operator at Campbell Soup Company spanned more than thirty years before his retirement. Survivors include his daughter, Dedrah Funderburg & husband David of Paris, a grandson, Tyler Funderburg & wife Ashley of Conroe, a brother, Jimmy Bright & wife Sandra of Quitman, two sisters, Marinel Gilmore & husband Bill and Sue Clemens & husband Mel all of Quitman along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Marx Offutt, Ray Spencer, Johnny Dodd, Randy McNeal, Tyler Funderburg & Don Dickerson. Honorary bearers will be: James Parker and W. H. Brumley.
