

Virginia Lee Nelson, 71, of Paris, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at Paris Regional Medical Center. A gathering of family and friends is scheduled from 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Per Virginia’s request, cremation will follow the visitation. Virginia, the daughter of John Wesley Crites, Sr. & Elizabeth Virginia Whitney Crites, was born April 14, 1943, in Robstown. In 1968, she graduated from the nursing program of Delmar College in Corpus Christi. Her career spanned many years working at healthcare centers, but most of her career was spent as an LVN at L. P. McCuistion Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital where she worked in all departments. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Elliff, Jr. She later married Donald Eugene Nelson, and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her father, a brother, John Crites, and a sister-in-law, Eileen Crites. Survivors include three children, Jeffrey Elliff of Linden, James Alan Elliff & wife Claudia of Houston and Kimberly Nelson of Paris, a grandson, Alan Matthias Elliff of Denver, CO, her mother, Elizabeth Crites of Blossom, four brothers, David Crites of Blossom, Jimmy Crites & wife Mary of Blossom, Ronnie Crites & wife Tricia of Robstown and Randy Crites & wife Kay of Springtown along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
