Weldon R. Stone

Weldon R. Stone, 80, of Clardy, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jody VanDeaver officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Stone, the son of R. R. “Rant” & Myrtle Mae Tucker Stone, was born Oct. 2, 1934, in Clardy. He worked for several feed & fertilizer companies before beginning a career at Campbell Soup Company that spanned 32 years before his retirement. Weldon was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Clement Stone, whom he married on June 25, 1955, building almost sixty years of family and memories, three sons, Boyce Stone of Gilmer, Jeffery Stone & wife Tanya of Corinth and Bradley Stone of Denton, grandchildren, Jennifer Stone, Christopher Stone & wife Jennifer Lynn, and Sasha Stone, great grandchildren, Cobin Stone and Danielle Stone, two brothers, Gary Stone & wife Janice of Blossom and Keith Stone of Clardy, two cousins, Jackie Alsobrook and Onita Short along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Clayton Carlow, Bobby Winters, Bobby Harrell, Bobby Pomroy, Shane Oates, Perry Duke, Richard Eatherly and Tony Ballard. Honorary bearers will be: Bennie Short, Dwight Skidmore, Troy Bright, James Parker, Jesse Easton and Dell Bybee.
