Ronald Nolan Sohler 70, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Parker, AZ. Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Donna Sohler (née Vuylsteke) of 51 years. Ron was father to 4 children, Joseph Sohler (Heidi), Pamela Long (Mike), Beckie Duyck (Danny) and Gabriel Sohler (Christina). Cherished Grandfather to 8 - Jennifer Sohler, Kevin Sohler (Crystal), Anastasia Winklebleck (Richard), Andrea Cox, Alysia Cox, Jarrod Kelly, Jessie Duyck and Zoe Duyck, and Great Grandfather to 6 - Steven Bates, Kynlee Sohler, Kylie Sohler, Kaelei Aboytes-Winklebleck, Amelia Winklebleck and Andrew Hawkins
He is survived by his Parents Nolan and Catherine Sohler, and by his 8 brothers and Sisters … Linda Beyer (Russ Morgan), Mark Sohler (Susan), Steve Sohler (Kathy), Roger Sohler (Debra), Lisa Philbrook (Melvin), Tom Sohler (Carol) Barbara Ludwick (Kurt), Mike Sohler (Jena). Ron will also be missed by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and many, many good friends.
Ron was born on July 9th, 1948 in Forest Grove Oregon. He lived most life in the Hillsboro/Banks area. Ron joined the Coast Guard in 1966. In May of 1967 he married the love of his life.
Ron was a heavy equipment operator/truck driver all his life. In 1980 he bought his first log truck. Ron retired in 2007, they bought a home in Bouse AZ and became snowbirds. In 2008 they purchased a home in LA Pine, OR as their summer home. In 2017 Bouse became their year-round home.
He had varied interest, he liked to paint, loved to fish (East lake anyone?), gold panning and drive his jeep or quad around in the desert.
He became a member of the Band of Brothers of LaPine, OR. He loved his brothers in Arms and enjoyed their morning breakfasts and comradery. He proudly walked alongside them in the local parades and assisting people in need.
Ron your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
