Scott Joseph Gusa, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2026. He will be remembered as a fun-loving, kind-hearted man who made friends wherever he went and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Scott spent his early years in the Kellogg, Minnesota, area before moving to Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota, in the mid-1990s. After a long and hard working career in logging, Scott retired and eventually moved to Arizona, where he spent the last few years of his life pursuing something he had always dreamed of—searching for gold.
Scott had a heart of gold himself. He was the kind of person who would be there for anyone in need. Generous with his time, quick to make a friend, and never afraid to tell it like it was, Scott left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His honesty, humor, and larger-than-life personality made him truly unforgettable.
Above all, Scott treasured his family. He loved spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whenever he could. He leaves behind his daughters, Tawnya Osorio and Andrea Zanol; his grandchildren, Samantha Osorio, Jordan Osorio, Jake Osorio, Josh Osorio, Andrew Frost, Alicia Frost, and Tyler Harms; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Barb Kirkwood, Connie Theismann, Darrell Gusa, Larry Gusa, and Brad Gusa.
Scott was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Gusa; his parents, Ernie and Margaret Gusa; his brothers, Gary Gusa and Jeff Gusa; and his grandson, George Osorio.
Whether he was called Scott, Dad, Grandpa, or Papa Gusa, he was loved by many. His laughter, friendship, stubborn honesty, generous spirit, and deep love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
