Arden was a man of faith and enjoyed attending church and sharing his love of God.
He was born at home in Braxton County, WV, by midwife Anitha King on December 8, 1933. Son of Emory and Blanche Goodrich Bailey.
He is a Marine Corps veteran and was at Parris Island, South Carolina.
Arden worked at the Curry Lumber that was located in Wirt County, as an equipment operator, the Wirt County DOH, Community Action of Wirt County repairing and remodeling homes.
He loved to visit with friends and family and reminisce about his life, recounting precious memories and sharing photos. He love to listen and sing gospel and bluegrass music, collect records and instruments.
Arden is survived by his wife of 69 years, Geraldine Cottrell Bailey, son, Lusk (Sue) Bailey, daughters Marion (Randy) Mowery, Terry (Steve) Coon and Kimberly Bailey all of Elizabeth. He had 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Arden is also survived by his sister Pauline Brumfield and Shelby Valentine and brother Arlan Bailey of McCallister, OK. Proceeded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Parkersburg from 5pm to 8pm.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Big Island Run Church of Elizabeth, WV at 12 pm, with Pastor Jon Larrison Officiating. Burial will follow at Alberts Chapel in Milstone, WV.
