

He was born October 18, 1931, in Wirt County, West Virginia, a son of the late Lester and Blanche Grable Lockhart.
Bernard served in the Air Force for 4 years. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 36 years of service, and was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church for over 50 years and of the Lubeck Community Baptist Church since 2001. Bernard enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Betty; son, Brent (Carri) Lockhart, of Texas; daughter, Brenda Lockhart, of Washington; daughter-in-law, Jonavieve Lockhart, of Washington; sister, Avis Full of Davisville; grandchildren, Jared (Courtney), Noah, Haggin, Eli, and Landri; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his son, Barry; sister, Louise Conley; and two infant brothers, Gerald, and Bernard’s twin, Lawrence.
Per his request, there will be a family only graveside service on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Sunset Memory Gardens, with Pastor Mark Houser officiating.
