Betty Lockhart

She was born on January 10, 1936 in Gilmer County, WV the daughter of the late Wise (Jake) Godfrey and Beulah (Dot) Queen Godfrey.

Betty was a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church for over 50 years and the Lubeck Community Baptist Church since 2001. She worked as an administrator at both churches. She also served as secretary and treasurer. Betty dedicated her life to her family and church.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bernard, and her son, Barry.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda Lockhart, Washington, WV; her son, Brent (Carri) Lockhart of Texas; daughter-in-law, Jonavieve Lockhart, Washington, WV; brothers, Haymond Godfrey, Washington, WV; Donald Godfrey of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Jared (Courtney), Noah, Haggin, Eli, Landri; great granddaughter, Eliza and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice.

Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on June 18,2025 at1:00 pm. With Pastor Mark Houser officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at June 18, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, In lieu of flowers please donate to Lubeck Community Baptist Church Building or General Fund.
