Charles Russell Sellers

He was born February 4, 1940, in Parkersburg at home, a son to the late R.L. and Aneth Sellers. He was a retired electrician from American Cyanamid/Cytec, and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of Broadway/Harmony Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He also served on the Board of Directors at Willow Island Federal Credit Union. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to family, the service of God, and helping others. He was a joyful giver and had a way of making people feel special.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Leonard Sellers.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith Sellers, son, Robert Sellers of Parkersburg, daughter, Misty Wright (Eric) of Parkersburg, grandchildren, Lilyan Wright, Marina Wright, and Tyler Wright, sisters, Carolyn Edwards, Alita Sellers Rote, and Jan Kinder, sister in law, Betty Sellers, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

To honor Russell, let us follow his model and continue loving and giving to one another. Matthew 25: 35, 36 and 40: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

Service will be Saturday, March 17, 2012, 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Don Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2012, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
