

Charles (Chuck) Woodson Taitt passed away on July 7, 2025, at Camden Clark Medical Center (Parkersburg, WV), just two weeks following his diagnosis with metastatic pancreatic cancer. He was 75. He was born on June 14, 1950, in Parkersburg, WV, to Jo Ann (Hull) and Charles Edward Taitt. His siblings, Ronald and Sandra, passed shortly after birth. Chuck was a member of the first graduating class at Parkersburg South High School in 1968. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering (B.S.Ch.E.) from Case Western Reserve University in 1972. He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Northwestern University in 1979. He was subsequently employed with Raychem, where he helped design temperature control technology in the contact rail, contributing to advancements that continue to serve the industry today. Later in life, Chuck made a courageous career change to pursue his passion for helping others. He obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Maine School of Law and opened The Law Office of Charles W. Taitt, Esq., in 2008. He was admitted to the West Virginia State Bar just prior to his passing. Throughout his legal career, he was especially proud to represent children in difficult and unfavorable circumstances, always advocating for their best interests. An active member of Little Hocking Evangelical Methodist Church, Chuck’s faith grew stronger over the years, becoming a guiding light for him and those around him. He loved serving in his church community and took comfort and joy in his faith and fellowship. Chuck was preceded in death by his loving wife, Deborah (Debbie) E. McComas, and he is survived by his children, Paula Boley, (m. 1969-2004), Jennifer, Maureen (Philip), and Mary. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, unwavering dedication to learning, compassionate spirit, and ever-deepening faith.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday July 14, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Jeff Williamson officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Monday from 12 PM to 2 PM at the funeral home.
